The Peacock Center for Human Development Association (PCHD) is committed to empowering Somali communities in Somalia and Canada. Our geographical reach reflects this commitment, allowing us to connect with and support Somalis across diverse locations.
Somalia
PCHD collaborates extensively with federal and state-level ministries in Somalia, focusing on Education, Health, Environment, Youth, and Agriculture. This alignment ensures our programs complement national priorities and avoid duplication of efforts.
- National Presence
PCHD is officially registered with the Federal Government of Somalia. Our headquarters are strategically located in Mogadishu, the nation's capital. This central location allows us to maintain strong connections with national entities and efficiently coordinate activities across Somalia.
- State-Level Expansion
Our reach extends beyond the capital city. PCHD has established a presence in all five member states of Somalia: Puntland, Galmudug, Hirshabelle, South-West State, and Jubaland. This regional presence allows us to tailor programs and services to address each region's specific needs and contexts. Furthermore, having official approval to conduct programs and activities in each member state ensures we operate within the legal framework and have strong working relationships with local authorities.
Canada
In Canada, we partner with the federal government, regional governments, and municipalities. This multi-level approach allows us to access resources, funding, and expertise tailored to the unique needs of Somali diaspora communities across the country. While focusing on Alberta, PCHD recognizes the importance of supporting Somali diaspora communities across Canada. We are actively working towards expanding our reach into additional regions. This expansion will allow us to leverage our experience and partnerships to empower and connect Somali Canadians nationwide.
